Future Technology Award

The Schaeffler FAG Foundation breaches the gap between industry and science by awarding the ideas, visions and goals of those working at the universities, in research and business. The purpose of the Future Technology Award is to recognize highly innovative research projects whose real feasibility can only be tested at a high level of risk in terms of success.

Promoting Innovations and Competitive Performance

The Schaeffler FAG Foundation promotes science, research and teaching in the field of scientific engineering related to bearing technology.

The foundation breaches the gap between industry and science by awarding the ideas, visions and goals of those working at the universities, in research and business.

For this purpose, the Foundation is presenting the Future Technology Award - which is worth € 100.000 - for the first time.

The Foundation promotes highly innovative research idea. and competitive performance.

Treatises Related to Bearing Technology

The research idea can be submitted. We refer to the definition of bearings technology in the designated competetive conditions.

The research idea can be submitted by university/university of higher education or by an individual faculty/department.

The respective university/institute of higher education or individual faculty/department must obtain authorization to participate in the competition before submitting the research idea.

The request can be submitted in German or English.

Applications are to be directed to the Schaeffler FAG Foundation by the announced application deadline.

Applications can be submitted until July 31, 2024 for the award ceremony in the following year.

The contents of all applications received will be treated confidentially. The university/institute of higher education or the faculty/department consents to the application documents that it has submitted being forwarded to the respective representatives of the Schaeffler FAG Foundation for assessment.

The Foundation will treat the application documents that have been submitted with the utmost care. However, no liability can be assumed for any loss, unauthorized use by third parties, or damage that may occur.

Recipients of the prize shall be selected by the committee of the Schaeffler FAG Foundation.

All decisions are final.

The Foundation reserves the right to forgo the awarding of any prizes in the event of a lack of applications of sufficient merit.

The submission of an application shall constitute a binding acceptance of the competition conditions.
