Schaeffler goes University – We are promoting university research as an innovation partner in the University Innovation Challenge (UIC). What is the UIC and what is our role in this event? Please read it for yourself.

University Innovation Challenge: Our partnership

Our inventive spirit and innovative strength are an essential basis for our success. At the same time, we are eager to find innovative, agile, and new methods of cooperation. By participating as a premium partner to the UIC in the category “Future Engineering”, we support research, startups, and innovation partners.

Startups with a university background and university research projects from the German-speaking region (Germany, Austria, and Switzerland) have the opportunity of winning an award in six different categories in UIC. These are:

  • Artificial Intelligence
  • Medical Technology
  • Future Finances & Commerce
  • Future Digital Working
  • Future Life Science, and
  • Future Engineering

Award ceremony and winners 2021

A jury made up of high-ranking representatives of the relevant sectors – including Uwe Wagner, Chief Technology Officer of Schaeffler AG – selected two finalists in each category from among the participants. The finalists had the opportunity to present their innovations live to the jury and an expert audience at the official award ceremony on October 21, 2021.

The finalists and the winners of the UIC reap many benefits, including, for example, mentoring by the innovation partners, media attention, and valuable contacts.
